KITS COTY MORRIS -- Maidstone's Morris Side, dancing since 1977! Kits Coty Morris is based in East Farleigh, in Kent, England. KITS COTY MORRIS was formed in 1976, originally as a men's side, dancing Cotswold tradition. First meetings and practises were held in the upstairs room at The Railway Tavern, in Wateringbury, before eventually moving to East Farleigh. KITS COTY MORRIS became a mixed side in the early Eighties, as it was feared that dwindling numbers of Kits Coty Morris' male members would be the end of the road. With the admission of ladies, however, and a re-design of kit (Kits Coty Morris may be the ONLY side to have different kit for male and female members dancing together), the continued existence of Kits Coty Morris seemed assured.
Today, KITS COTY MORRIS is enjoying its 30th year, and is a vibrant and enthusiastic side. Come along any Thursday evening at the venues listed on our KITS COTY MORRIS PROGRAMME page, and enjoy our performances in and around Maidstone. KITS COTY MORRIS also attend festivals and events throughout the country, such as Scarborough Fair, Yorkshire, Wimborne Folk Festival, Dorset, Sidmouth Folk Festival, Devon, as well as many others. Kits Coty have travelled to Holland, France, Germany and beyond.
If you would like to join KITS COTY MORRIS, we practise Thursday evenings at the East Farleigh Women's Institute Hall, from October each Autumn. Membership is free!.
